  2. Enter a display name — this is how your friends will see you on the leaderboard. You can change it later.
  3. Join the group — you're in. No account required, no download needed.
  4. Go to the Matches tab — you'll see all the upcoming fixtures. Pick a score and submit your call.
  5. Watch the leaderboard — after each match, points are calculated automatically and the leaderboard updates.

Making calls

What is a Call?

A Call is your prediction for the final score of a match. Example: you predict Arsenal 2 – 1 PSG. If the final score is 2–1, you get 3 points. If Arsenal wins but the score is different, you get 1 point. Anything else: 0 points.

Submitting a call

  1. Go to the Matches tab in your group.
  2. Find an upcoming fixture (not yet kicked off).
  3. Use the +/– buttons or type directly to set your predicted score for each team.
  4. Tap Submit call — you'll see a confirmation and the call appears in the Calls tab.

Editing a call

You can update your call any time before kickoff. Just go to the fixture, change your score prediction, and submit again. Once kickoff passes, the call is locked.

Locked matches

Once a fixture is locked, you'll see your call displayed alongside the live or final score. No submit button is shown.

  • Upcoming — call form visible, submit available
  • In progress / locked — call locked, match ongoing
  • Finished — call shown, final score shown, points awarded

Bulk submit

If you have multiple open fixtures, tap Submit all to confirm all your current (unsaved) predictions at once. Useful before a busy matchday.

Tournament picks

What are Picks?

Picks are bonus predictions beyond match scores — things like who will win the tournament, who scores first in the final, or how the group table will finish. They're worth extra points and they're set once (with a deadline), not per match.

Your group organizer decides which picks are available. You'll only see this section if picks are enabled.

Types of picks

Pick typeWhat you predictWhen it locks
ChampionWhich team wins the whole competitionOrganizer-set deadline
Runner-upWhich team finishes secondOrganizer-set deadline
Semi-finalistsWhich two teams reach the semisOrganizer-set deadline
Group stage standingsFull finishing order per group (e.g. Group A 1st → 4th)Before first match in that group
First scorer in the finalWhich player scores first in the final matchAt kickoff of the final
Custom yes/noAny question the organizer sets (e.g. "Will there be extra time?")Organizer-set deadline

Pick deadlines

Each pick type has its own deadline, set by the organizer. After the deadline, picks are locked and cannot be changed. The Picks tab shows the deadline for each open pick.

Joining mid-competition

If you join after the competition has started, the Picks tab will show only picks that are still open — ones with answers still unknown. You'll see an amber banner letting you know some picks were already locked when you joined. You compete on a level playing field for everything still open.

Leaderboard breakdown

Your leaderboard total is the sum of three categories:

  • Match calls — all your scored match predictions
  • Tournament picks — champion, runner-up, semi-finalists, etc.
  • Group stage standings — your group table predictions

Tap any name on the leaderboard to see a breakdown by category. The ↑↓ arrows show how your position has changed since the last result.

Your group

The Calls tab

The Calls tab shows every call made in the group — who predicted what, and what actually happened. After a result, you'll see each member's call next to the final score and the points they earned.

Use this to settle arguments. Or to start them.

Reactions & comments

On any feed event (a result, a big call, a leaderboard moment), you can:

  • React with an emoji (tap the emoji row below the event)
  • Leave a comment (tap to expand the comment area, type, and submit with Enter or Cmd+Enter)

Comments are limited to a length set by your organizer (default 350 characters). Short, sharp banter encouraged.

Inviting others

Tap Invite in the group navigation to share the group link. You can:

  • Share via your device's native share sheet (WhatsApp, iMessage, etc.)
  • Copy the link directly

Anyone with the link can join, subject to the organizer's approval setting.

Notifications

The bell icon shows recent activity in your groups: new results, new calls, comments on events you've reacted to. Notifications appear for groups you're active in and for recently completed groups (within 7 days).

Tap any notification to jump directly to the relevant event.

Your profile

Changing your display name

Tap the pencil icon next to your name in the group header. Enter a new name and confirm. The change applies across all past calls in that group — your identity stays consistent. Your name in other groups is not affected.

Language

Tap the language selector in the top navigation to switch between English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, and Italian. Your preference is saved and applies across all groups.

Competition settings

Access these via Settings inside your group. Changes take effect immediately.

Group stage standings

Enable this to let members predict the final table order for each competition group (e.g. Group A in the World Cup). Members drag-and-drop teams into their predicted order before the first match in each group. Worth up to 13 points per group.

Tournament picks

Enable this to unlock champion, runner-up, semi-finalist, and other tournament-level predictions. Set a deadline — after which all picks are locked. If no deadline is set, picks lock 1 hour before the relevant match.

Pick visibility

Control when members can see each other's picks:

  • Before kickoff — all calls visible immediately (open game)
  • After kickoff — calls hidden until the match starts (no copying)
  • After result — calls hidden until the result is processed (maximum tension)

This setting applies to everyone including you.

Comment length

Set the maximum comment length per event: 160 / 350 / unlimited. Default is 350. Shorter limits keep things punchy. Unlimited for groups that like essays.

Profanity filter

On by default. Filters display names and comments against a multi-language list (EN, PT, ES). Turn it off if your group is... that kind of group. You know who you are.

Member approval

When enabled, new joiners land in a pending state. You'll see a badge on the Members panel and can approve or reject each request. Useful if your invite link got shared more widely than intended.

When disabled (default), anyone with the link joins immediately.

Teams to follow

By default, all matches in the competition are available for calls. If the competition has too many matches (World Cup has 64, Champions League has 96+), you can focus your group on specific teams.

Setting it up

In Settings → Teams to follow, select one or more teams. Only matches involving those teams will appear on the Matches tab for all members.

Filter scope

Choose which phases of the competition the filter applies to:

ScopeWhat it does
Group stage only (default)Filter active during group stage. All matches visible in knockout rounds.
All phasesFilter active throughout. If followed teams are eliminated, members see no matches in later phases.
CustomYou choose which specific phases (Group stage / R16 / QF / SF / Final) to apply the filter to.

Member management

Approving members (if approval is enabled)

A badge appears on the Members panel when someone is waiting. Tap to see pending requests — you can approve or reject individually.

Approved members gain full access immediately. Rejected members see an "approval declined" message and cannot rejoin via the same invite.

Promoting a member to organizer

From the leaderboard or the Members list, open a member's options (···) and tap Promote to organizer. The member immediately gains organizer access. There is no demotion — organizer status is additive. If needed, create a new group rather than removing an organizer.

Recording results

BragBracket automatically ingests match results from football-data.org. In most cases you don't need to do anything.

If a result hasn't appeared within a few hours of the final whistle, or if you spot an error:

Match result

Go to the fixture → tap Record result → enter the final score. Points are recalculated for all members immediately.

Pick results (tournament picks)

Go to Picks → find the pick type → tap Record outcome → enter the result. Applicable scores are awarded automatically.

Group lifecycle

Completing a group

When the competition ends, the group moves to a "Completed" state. The final leaderboard is preserved. Members can still view the group, the calls tab, and all results for 7 days before the group moves to archived.

Soft-deleting a group

In Settings, tap Delete group. This gives you a 48-hour undo window — the group is hidden from members but can be restored. After 48 hours, the group is permanently archived.
